What is the protocol for handling travelers who test positive for COVID-19 during their stay in Cyprus?

The government of Cyprus is dedicated to providing for travelers who test positive for COVID-19 during their visit. They will arrange for their transfer to designated facilities and cover the costs for accommodation, meals, beverages, and medication. The traveler’s only expenses will be for their airport transfer and repatriation flight, which will be coordinated with their travel agent and/or airline

A COVID-19 hospital, with ample available beds and intensive care units equipped with ventilators, has been designated solely for travelers who test positive for the virus.

An individual who tests positive for COVID-19 may opt to self-quarantine in a privately rented home or apartment, at their own cost, as long as their room is not shared and they do not utilize public amenities

What is the duration of isolation for individuals who test positive for the virus?

Positive cases must isolate for 7 days starting from the date of their positive test result and are released without the requirement of a negative test. The isolation period may be shortened if the traveler receives a negative PCR test result on the 5th day after testing positive (the cost of the test will be the responsibility of the individual). It is mandatory for the traveler to stay in their room or designated spaces at all times during the isolation period.
